DISTRICT 1 COUNCIL CANDIDATE ANNOUCES
BLOWOUT FUNDRAISING RESULTS
ORANGE, CA - August 12, 2020 -- Orange business owner Arianna Barrios, candidate for Orange City Council District 1, announced more than $34,000 in fundraising for the reporting period ending June 30. Her fundraising efforts have continued nonstop and now the campaign has a total of more than $40,000 cash on hand. The results align with Barrios’ clear front-runner status, campaign officials said.
“I’m truly humbled and amazed by the support of my community and neighbors,” Barrios said. “As your Council Member from District 1, I plan to preserve our historic neighborhoods, protect public safety, and champion economic recovery and growth so we can pay our bills. For more than 10 years I’ve balanced budgets at the Community College District, and I will bring that same experience to my hometown.”
Barrios is supported by numerous community members. As a homegrown leader, she is endorsed by current Orange Mayor Pro Tem Mike Alvarez, as well as former Orange Mayors Tita Smith and Carolyn Cavecche. Barrios is also endorsed by the Orange County Taxpayers Association for her strong opposition to new taxes on businesses and residents.
Orange will hold district elections for the first time in the city’s over 100-year history. Council District 1 includes Old Towne, Chapman University, St. Josephs Hospital, Hart Park, Santiago Creekside and surrounding neighborhoods.
